Laurent Chauvat
(b. 1961) is a French artist who lives and works in Paris. Before he moved on to painting and sculpting (clay, wire, metal and plaster for bronze) he was a musician for many years, playing the drums and percussion. His extensive knowledge about metal lead him to work on furniture and interior design, focusing on metal, bronze and nickel plating. He is currently working for the architect Peter Marino, for Dior, and for Bernd Goeckler Inc. in New York. Laurent Chauvat has been featured in several television programs and published in the "Elle Decoration" magazine. Numerous of his pieces are scattered across Asia, USA, East, Europe and Russia in private collections.
